This show was my Masters Thesis Lighting Design. It was fun to work on and a challenge at the same time.

Working with 'up light' to show a classic theatrical look was fun. It was an angle of light that I had previously not explored.

Creating depth with light was a challenge in this scene. This had to be lit like a dance would be, but I couldn't have any traditional dance side lighting positions.

This picture is the 'show within the show' or the world of Taming of the Shrew.

For this story from Greek Mythology, I had the opportunity to use a new lighting fixture in this show called a Nexera Wash. I choose to use it as a color wash for the stage. I plotted 2 units as specials for specific moments in the show.

This is a story about the Romanian Revolution. The scenic designer gave me a great set to work with. The feeling I wanted to give through lighting for this show was first oppression. This was done with the use of strong downlight. The next was the use of a lone reading lamp that while warm and inviting could also leave you feeling trapped and isolated. This was just for act 1.

Portrait of a Lady
-
My intent with the lighting was to show the progression of age and time. Not only in things but also in relationships, mirroring the progression of the characters in the story, much like a painting that would crack over time.
